GOIMEK holds an Open House day

GOIMEK, a member cooperative company of the DANOBATGROUP, specialised in precision and large machining, held an open day event last Saturday with the aim of strengthening the links with workers of the cooperative and the group. More than 90 people came to the event. The company, specialised in machining high added-value parts for the aerospace or energy sectors, among others, opened its facilities, located in Itziar and Mallabia, both to workers as well as to their relatives and friends.

The visitors had the opportunity to learn more about the work carried out in the cooperative, and to see for themselves the equipment with cutting-edge technology, and high-precision, high-productivity machines, as well as state-of-the-art verification systems.

The Itziar-Deba production plant is specialised in big size parts machining, whereas the Mallabia plant specialises in grinding and machining of complex geometries on demanding materials.

On top of that, the visitors to the event were shown the latest addition to the facilities of the cooperative: the leading-edge multifunction centre SORALUCE FS-16000.

This machine will enable Goimek to achieve the highest standards in bulky and technically complex part machining making it possible to machine a variety of shapes and sizes of parts for demanding sectors.

The machine features a longitudinal travel of 16000 mm, vertical travel of 3600 mm and cross travel of 1500 mm, two work stations with two tables designed and manufactured by SORALUCE allowing to perform a variety of processes such as turning, milling, boring, drilling and threading operations.

Last Saturday´s event, the first one ever of its kind held by the cooperative, came to an end after the visitors enjoyed some canapés and refreshments.
